Why do I use a DBT-informed approach?
Dialectal behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based practice that is effective for treating anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. In therapy, we are always balancing acceptance and change, which I believe is fundamental to the therapeutic process.
I often hear from clients who have done therapy in the past that they enjoyed talk therapy but it did not help them apply the changes to their life. I find that holding space to process your emotions, while providing you with tangible skills enables you to create the life or relationship of your dreams.
